The provisions for cemeteries under the Local Government Act and Cemetery Regulations generally only apply to public cemeteries; that is those owned by State or Local Government Authorities.

It is important that each cemetery confirms their status under prevailing legislation to identify their compliance requirements under these Acts and Regulations.
